Dead Capo play avant instrumental music, they're able to mix everything or almost everything. “Díscolo”, their first release is an unpredictable turmix, a musical road-movie with no boundaries. Main stops could be: Jazz, swing, rock, surf, funk, lounge, blues and score music in the Mancini-Rota-Barry-Schiffrin style.

Dead Capo is an enigma for the critics, nobody is agree to define what kind of music they do. Their music is the result of a over-exposed hearing of dozens of music styles. A proof of that fact is the huge spectrum of festivals where they’ve played.

JAZZ FESTIVALS: Emociona Jazz (2002), Festival de Jazz de Getxo (2003), Muestra de Jazz de Ibiza (2003), Festival de Jazz de Soto del Real (2003), Festival de Jazz de Ciudad Lineal (2003), Ciclo “Alrededor del Jazz” (2004) en el CMJ San Juan Evangelista; Rising Stars Tour 2005, touring at auditories in Sevilla, Cádiz y Jerez; AlcalatinJazz (2005), JazzparlaJazz (2005), Festival Jazz en las Plazas, Salamanca (2005), Festival de Jazz de Toledo (2005), Festival Jazz en el Centro, Gijón (2006) Manchester Jazz Festival (UK) (2007); Krakow Jazz Fall Festival (Poland) (2010)

ROCK FESTIVALS: Primavera Sound (2003), Effex Festival (2003), Fusiònica 5.0, Barcelona (2003), Festival A Pie de Calle, Almería (2003), Juvecant, Santander, (2006) FILM EVENTS: Gala de Entrega de Premios del programa de TVE Versión Española (2006); Festival Ocho Días en Negro (2005); Gala de Clausura del Festival Internacional de Cine Gijón (2003) a very special concert at Jovellanos Theatre where they played their favorite film scores; or

MISCELLANEOUS FESTIVALS: Experimentaclub 03’, Casa Encendida de Madrid; Festival de Otoño (2005), Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, La Noche de los Libros (2006). Periferias (2010)

In 2006 Dead Capo and cinema crossed their roads. Argentinian film director Miguel Ángel Cárcano chosed music from Dead Capo..s debut to score scenes and credits of his second film “Interior (Noche)”, which was selected for the San Sebastian Film Festival 2006.

The seed of Dead Capo was an experimental band called Insecto, they played a sort of no-wave- noisy jazz style, that band was where Carlos Timón, Javier Gallego, Javier Adán, Marcos Monge and Javier Díez-Ena meeted each other. In 1999 Carlos Timon moved to London and they disbanded, the rest decided to form a new project called Dead Capo. Two years later they founded Pueblo Records their own label. In 2002 they released their first album “Díscolo” with a luxurious list of sidemen, like Nacho Mastretta y Markus Breuss (Clónicos, OCQ, Mil dolores pequeños...). “Díscolo” got excelent reviews in the spanish media.
